Greetings in the Lord!
Welcome and thank you for joining us as the Bible Reading Adventure continues! This month, as we finish reading the Book of Numbers and move on to the New Testament Book of Mark, we see the amazing love of God throughout the ages and the unfolding of his plan for us. God is ever so faithful - from guiding and providing for the needs of the Israelites in their desert journey thousands of years ago, to giving us his Son to guide and provide for our needs today. It is indeed amazing and exciting to discover the details of God love, principles and plan as we continue our journey through the Bible. A copy of the reading schedule is attached. May you be blessed with this month’s reading!
As a part of our journey each month, we highlight a teaching of Chris t and a character quality to consider. If you are in the San Diego area, join us on Sundays to study the “Commands of Chris t” in greater detail.
Commands of Chris t – “Beware of Leaven”
“Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.” Matthew 16:6 (KJV)
Character of Chris t – Virtue (vs. Weakness)
Associated with this command is the character quality of Virtue. Virtue is the power of a life that is in harmony with the holy standards of God. Virtue is like a lighthouse. The greater the storms and the darker the night, the more its power and brightness are valued. Virtue is the power of the Holy Spirit energizing the lives of those who are touched by it. “That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man.” Ephesians 3:16 (Commands of Chris t, Series Four, Institute in Basic Life Principles, 2003)
Notes:
