About Us

	Chinese Community Church seeks to serve its members by providing them with opportunities for spiritual, physical, intellectual, social, and cultural development. Our mission is to Fulfill God’s Vision, Share Christ’s Love, and Transform Lives, and by so doing, to ‘advance the gospel’ (see Mt. 28:18-20 and Acts 1:8).
	The Chinese Community Church is affiliated with the United Church of Christ (UCC) but is autonomous and self-supporting. We cooperate and join with other Christians in worship, fellowship and service.

	Statement of Faith We believe in God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who died on the cross for all our sins, and rose again so that we will have eternal life. We believe the Holy Bible is the Word of God, which will give us victory and peace as we follow the teachings of Jesus the Christ.

	History of the Church The church had its beginnings back in 1885 when the Chinese Mission School of San Diego was created to meet the needs of Chinese immigrants. In 1948, the Mission became an independent church. As more and more people immigrated to San Diego, the need for bigger and better facilities to serve a new generation became apparent. In 1960, the Church relocated from downtown San Diego to a seven acre site on 47th Street that included a large sanctuary, community hall, kitchen, and classrooms. In 1985, the Chinese Community Church celebrated its centennial, having been a mission for sixty-three years, and an independent church for thirty-seven years.
	On October 15, 2006, the church moved to its new campus in Tierrasanta. Our new 6,961 square feet sanctuary seats 325 people, and our 18,000 square foot Fellowship Hall seats about 400. The Chinese Community Church continues to provide a warm setting for worship and fellowship not only for the historic Chinese community in San Diego but also for its current congregation, a diverse gathering of people from many nations. All services are conducted in English.

		From I-15, take the CLAIREMONT MESA BLVD exit. Head East for 2.1 miles. Turn LEFT onto VIA VALARTA. 0.4 miles Church will be on your left past the 3-way stop sign.
